We did that last year, and… it worked, but it *was* horrendously expensive. Of course, we were having them shipped to a third location, so we were also having them wrapped (in gold lame’, for the price). But yes, it does work. And it is very seductive.
hey with the price of gas, online shippping charges are starting to not look so bad. or just buy everyone shoes off zappos, free shipping!
Amazon was my friend this year. We have Amazon Prime, so free 2 day shipping and I had a few kids to buy for and they have a TON of toys on sale. Also, if you are looking for better deals on something specific you are looking for you should check out http://www.slickdeals.net. You can search the forums to see if anyone has found good deals on items you are looking for or you can set up deal alerts so it will email you when a good deal is posted for that item.
