Chubbing up, relatively

Miles gained an ounce.  Woo woo!  Yesterday my parents, grandparents, and brother came for a visit.  Miles slept all day, of course, but my mom was a trooper and spent much of the night keeping him calm.  It turns out he sleeps well when someone’s holding him; too bad that’s hard to do for parents who need sleep too.

Are you guys co-sleeping at all? Holy mother mercy, if we’d only started that sooner, our lives would’ve been A LOT easier, sleep-wise (and as a result, every other way, too). It’s a very personal decision, obviously, and Miles is going to be all mixed up for a while anyway, but you might think about it. Makes breast feeding a heck of a lot easier, too.

Ol’ Skittergramps has a way with the camera, for sure.

Skittergramps? That is incredible, as is this photo. Beautiful and precious.
So glad to hear your little man is gaining weight.

He’s *beautiful*. And you can’t say that about most newborns, as most are of the squishy and awkward-looking variety!

What a doll. He looks really cute and peaceful in that pic.
I had trouble getting #2 to sleep once he was out of my arms and my mother-in-law suggested that I put a heating pad in his bed while he was out feeding or whatever. That way when you lay the baby back down the bed is all warm like you are (you don’t leave the heating pad in the bed once the baby is in there. It actually worked pretty good. (Sorry, I know new moms get way more unasked for advice than they want…)

Lupe has the same sleepin issues. I feel your pain and lack of sleep. 🙂

I suspect you’ve heard this a lot, but wow, does that kid look just like his dad or what?

From anecdotal experience, he’ll probably go through phases where he looks more like one of you, then the other. I guess it’s Denny’s turn first. 🙂

A lovely child and a great photograph. Congratulations to you and Dad.

I just wanted to say, as if you don’t know, that you have a very handsome young man. I am sumonicus on Flickr and have enjoyed your pics for sometime now. I understand your concern with going private but since I became a Daddy 19 months ago, I just love kids. Side note, our son has never slept in bed with us and, since he was about two weeks old, have never had any problems geting him to sleep. Be glad to “talk” more with you about that if you’d like but, if I remember correctly, you’re getting more advice than you care for right now.
Thanks Aprille and enjoy – he is a blessing.

    Aprille,
    He is so beautiful!
Your labor sounded ALOT like mine (except for early) so I’ve “felt your pain” haha.
    Congratulations again!
