Jamal River, QEPD
I will miss Jamal for a thousand years. I’ll reflect on all this later, but right now I’m just tired and sad. Jamal was tired and sad and in pain for a long, long time.
I wish you peace, my old friend.

Hi Aprille,
I was in high school in Iowa City for most of the time that I went to No Shame theater, but I remember you, Jamal, and Michael Tabor as being some of my absolute favorites. Your “responses to questions on a sex ed website” (or something to that effect) was hilarious. I’m sorry for your loss, and for that of Jamal’s family as well. I don’t really expect or need this posted as an actual comment, I would have just emailed you if I had that option – I just wanted you to know that he touched a lot of lives and brought a lot of happiness, even all these years later. I will always remember that kid – especially as an old, weak man who will be knocked out in three rounds.
