Wedding shoes

I got my wedding shoes! They are very nice. I was going to wait until after we move to get them so there would be less to haul, but I figured it’s easier to absorb the cost now. They weren’t all that expensive, even I cannot believe that some people pay $300 for wedding shoes. I might pay $300 for some really amazing boots, but not for shoes I’m going to wear once that won’t even show under my dress.

Here are my shoes:

They’re very cute shoes. Plus, you might wear them more than just once…maybe with a cute little sundress (and you know how you love cute little sundresses) on your honeymoon.

Yes, I thought that too, though now that I’ve tried them on I’m not so sure if they’re as versatile as I’d hoped. They’re mostly made out of satin, which isn’t the best beach fabric. But I imagine I’ll find a use for them. They’re comfortable, so they’ll be good for wearing all day at the wedding.

It’s tough to find double-duty shoes. A word of caution: even though your shoes *seem* comfortable right off the bat, it’s still a good idea to break them in by wearing them around the house. Once I bought a pair of flat slipper-looking shoes that felt great when I put them on. Then I wore them to work and came home looking (and feeling) like someone had taken a whip to my feet. The only shoe I’ve met that hasn’t hurt me after a day’s wear is a ballet slipper (and even then, my arches hurt). Call me Debbie Downer. Bwaaa Bwaaaa…. I love you.
