The misused prepositions of youth

A while ago, I ran across an old tape my brother and I made when we were kids (I was 11, he was 5).  The content:  he bet me $5 that he would change his name when he grew up, and I bet him that he wouldn’t.

Highlights:  Tyler hesitating before stating his name, then clarifying the ephemeral nature of nomenclature; my general misuse of prepositional phrases.

Listen here.  (Warning: I had some technical difficulties capturing the audio and I didn’t get to adjust the levels, so it’s a little loud.  You may want to adjust your volume before playing, especially if you’re wearing headphones.)

    It looks like you’ve won.

Well, he should be about 24 now, so yeah, that’s grown-up enough. You win.

You could make all kinds of money by taking small children up on their foolhardy bets and reaping the benefits years later. Kindergarten is full of SUCKERS, man!!

This made me laugh and laugh. You were so serious! My sister and I also made bets when we were younger. I bet her that I would be taller, and she bet me that she’d get married first. We didn’t record either one, but I guess it’s a wash, anyway. Very funny stuff.

For reals, are you going to collect on this or what? You should.
That’s weird how your voice was muchly similar to now-voiced Aprille. Why didn’t you have the voice of a tiny baby child back then?
