My new favorite band

My new favorite band is Los Super Elegantes.

It’s a man from Buenos Aires and a woman from Tijuana who are kind of part of the Los Angeles art scene, from what I gather.  They seem kind of tongue-in-cheek emo, and they remind me a bit of slightly higher-fi version of the Moldy Peaches.  They sing in Spanish, English and French.

I can’t decide what my favorite song is, but I’m leaning toward Panadero.  If you understand Spanish, listen to the lyrics.  They’re really funny.

Eek! Embarrassing! Thank you, though. 🙂 And I’m lucky too. Denny’s the best.

My meager grasp of Spanish tells me it’s about a guy who makes bread and has tight pants, and the song is telling this breadmaker to heat up the oven and take down his pants??

    Also, this banda es bueno.

That’s pretty much it, Katy. And if he happens to burn his ween…comedy gold!

I’m pleased from reading the comments to see I wasn’t too far off, because my interpretation was “take your pants down” too. For me this had some additional pro wrestling comedy that most of the blog readers will miss, but it makes me think of Vince McMahon and Mick Foley and laugh all the same. 🙂
