An exciting evening for Denny and Bisquito

Last night, as Denny was singing his special songs to my abdomen, Bisquito kicked several times, hard enough for Denny to feel it from the outside. That was exciting, as it was the first time that’s happened. I’ve felt it from the outside before, but it hadn’t happened consistently enough for Denny to, until last night.

I learned that this is about the point in fetal development where Bisqui has a sense of touch, so maybe bouncing around the inside of my uterus is more fun now that he/she can enjoy the sensations. It’s still fun for me, too, because it’s roomy enough in there that it’s not uncomfortable. We’ll see how long that lasts.

Can you imagine what it would be like to acquire a new sense?  That’s just amazing.

That’s really cool. How neat for Denny, too. I dare say he’s never going to forget that moment. And just wait until things get tighter in there. We got to the point where we could see knees and elbows poking around under Leah’s shirt all the time. Super, super weird, but amazingly cool, too.

    Interesting!

I wonder if from where Bisquito is right now, if it’s kind of like those inflatable castles that kids jump around in when the carnival comes to town.

    Cool!

For some reason it reminded me of one of those goofy moments from the old Hollywood Squares:

Peter Marshall to Paul Lynde or perhaps it was Rose Marie:
“Paul (Rose, As a person enters old age, this is often the first of the senses that one loses”

Paul(Rose): “Your sense of decency!” 🙂
